The teams from the Mission Foods Nations Cup are making their final preparations in anticipation for the tournament that begins tomorrow.
The Cup, which takes place at the OCBC Arena from 4th – 10th September debuted in Singapore in 2006. The tournament has since been recognised as one of the region’s biggest international netball competition. Yearly, the game brings teams from across the globe and sees a debutant team participating– this year being Zambia.
At the photo-call event today at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, captains and vice-captains from five participating countries; Ireland, Canada, Zambia, Botswana and Singapore shared their goals and aspirations for the week.
Lianna Wong, Vice-Captain of Team Canada said “Being here for the Mission Foods Nations Cup is an awesome experience. Singapore is very welcoming and everyone in the team is excited to play tomorrow”.
Vanessa Marie Lee, Captain of Team Singapore said, “The Singapore Team is excited and ready to playing the opening match tomorrow. This will be our second tournament as a team, and we look forward to playing in front of the home crowd and making them proud.”
