New Zealand Silver Ferns, Members of Parliament, M1 Management and Team Singapore Netball net $50,000 for charity
Singapore, 11 November 2017 – New Zealand Silver Ferns, Members of Parliament, M1 Management and Team Singapore Netball Players came together this morning at the Kallang Netball Centre to play in the charity exhibition game at the M1 Corporate Netball Challenge 2017.
Since the inception of the M1 Corporate Netball Challenge in 2013, the charity exhibition game has been a staple feature in the corporate one-day event, raising funds for the underprivileged children and youths-at-risk causes of M1’s adopted charities.
New Zealand international players Kayla Cullen and Phoenix Karaka were in town for the charity exhibition match, each captaining a team. Karaka was teamed with Senior Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Education and Mayor of South-West CDC, Ms Low Yen Ling, Members of Parliament Mr Teo Ser Luck and Mr Lee Yi Shyan, and Team Singapore netballers Vanessa Lee, Yu Meiling, Chen Li and Melody Teo.
Leading the M1 management team was Cullen, supported by Team Singapore netballer Charmaine Soh. The M1 management team was represented by Mr Alex Tan, Chief Innovation Officer, Mr Alan Goh, Chief Information Officer, Mr Koh Ann Huat, Director of Procurement & Facilities Management, Mr Ivan Lim, Director of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, Mr Ng Long Shyang, Director of Marketing and Ms Yap Ker Sim, General Manager of Customer Service.
The teams netted 15 goals in total and in appreciation of the Members of Parliament’s participation, M1 will donate S$50,000 to the underprivileged children and youths-at-risk causes of its adopted charities.

Besides participating in the charity exhibition game, New Zealand Silver Ferns Cullen and Karaka will also be conducting netball clinics for schools and the National age groups, sharing their experience and skills with young, aspiring netball players as part of the M1 Schools Programme.
The M1 Corporate Netball Challenge 2017 saw 35 teams from 29 corporations facing off each other under competitive and social mixed categories. They include teams from the banks, legal and audit firms, GLCs and MNCs.
