Netball Singapore is pleased to announce the appointment of Australian coach Tara Steel as the new National Coach and Technical Director. She succeeds Annette Bishop, who stepped down late last year after nearly five years in charge.
Steel, 39, brings a wealth of experience from her 15 years of coaching within the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and Netball Australia pathways. Most recently, she was the Head Coach of the Canberra Netball Association Division 1 team, leading them to multiple premierships. She has also coached ACT state teams at the U19 and U17 levels in national championships and served as an assistant coach for the Canberra GIANTS in the Australian National Championships.
In addition to her coaching credentials, Steel has held key leadership roles in administration, including as Associate Director for Membership and Partnership Growth for the Australian Food & Grocery Council. She also has over a decade of experience in sport operations and technical management, previously serving as General Manager of Sport Operations at Touch Football Australia. Her background in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, event delivery and program development positions her well to oversee the national team and the technical development of netball in Singapore.
