Netball Hall of Fame and M1 raise S$50,000 for charity at the M1 Corporate Netball Challenge 2018

New Fast5 format with 5-a-side and super shots
 
Singapore, 10th November 2018 – Australian Diamond Jo Weston, Netball Hall of Fame members and M1 Management came together this morning at the Kallang Netball Centre to play in the annual charity exhibition game at the M1 Corporate Netball Challenge 2018.
 
The charity exhibition game has been a staple feature in the corporate one-day event, raising funds for the underprivileged children and youths-at-risk causes of M1’s adopted charities since 2013.
 
Australian Diamond and Commonwealth Games Silver Medallist, Jo Weston guest-starred in the Hall of Fame team in the charity exhibition match. The Hall of Fame team also includes Singapore’s most capped player Premila Hirubalan, Former National Captain Micky Lin, Chen Huifen and newly inducted members Vanessa Lee and Charmaine Soh.
 
The M1 senior management team was represented by Mr Alex Tan, Chief Innovation Officer, Mr Alan Goh, Chief Information Officer, Mr Ivan Lim, Director of Corporate Communications, Investor Relations & Business Development, Mr Stamford Low, Director of Customer Service and Mr Koh Ann Huat, Director of Procurement & Facilities.
 
The teams netted 7 goals in total and in appreciation of the Hall of Fame’s participation, M1 will donate S$50,000 to the underprivileged children and youths-at-risk causes of its adopted charities.
 
Ms Jessica Tan, Member of Parliament, and President of Netball Singapore said, “We are glad to continue to do our part for charity and I would like to thank the Hall of Fame members for coming forward to aid our cause.”
 
“I am also immensely appreciative of M1 who has been hugely supportive of netball for the past few years. We are extremely grateful for this partnership which has allowed us to grow the sport in Singapore,” added Tan.
 
“As a long-term supporter of M1 Corporate Netball Challenge, we are delighted to see strong support from so many corporate teams today. M1 has been an avid supporter of Singapore’s netball scene and we continue to work together with Netball Singapore to strengthen interest in the sport, as well as to encourage everyone to stay active and adopt a healthy lifestyle.” said Mr Patrick Scodeller, Chief Operating Officer, M1.
 
Besides participating in the charity exhibition game, Jo Weston will also be conducting a training session with Team Singapore on Tuesday, 13th November.
 
The M1 Corporate Netball Challenge 2018 saw 28 teams facing off each other under competitive and social mixed categories. The teams played in a new Fast5 format which was 5-a-side and featured super shots of 1, 2 and 3 goals.
