Match Schedule for Netball World Cup Released

Returning to Australian soil after 24 years from Friday 7 – Sunday 16 August, Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015 will open with three blockbuster matches featuring the top six nations battling it out across the Opening Weekend of competition at Sydney Olympic Park.

With the release of the full competition schedule today, it has been revealed;
Day 1, Friday 7 August – Malawi (World Number 5) versus South Africa (World Number 6)
Day 2, Saturday 8 August – England (World Number 3) versus Jamaica (World Number 4)
Day 3, Sunday 9 August – Australia (World Number 1) versus New Zealand (World Number 2)

Unlike previous Netball World Cups, the top six nations will have an early look at the top-seeded competition, giving fans more opportunities to see the world’s best go head-to-head.

The Australian Diamonds and New Zealand Silver Ferns match on Sunday 9 August at 2.20pm will feature in the Trans-Tasman weekend at Sydney Olympic Park, with the Bledisloe Cup tie on the evening prior. Singapore will open the campaign on 7 August against Sri Lanka before meeting South Africa and Malawi.

At the conclusion of the Preliminary Rounds (Days 1 – 4) the first eight teams and second eight teams will be placed into Qualification Pools for Days 5 – 8 of competition.

Ticketing information has also been released alongside the full competition schedule today, with affordable ticket pricing making the event accessible for many. Adults can access a full day of World Cup action for as little as $26.00* or less – on days 4, 6 & 7, which becomes less than $6.50 a match.  Additionally, children can enjoy a Day Ticket starting from only $16.50* – which is less than $4.50 per international match on Days 4 & 7.

For NWC2015 Chief Executive Marne Fechner today’s announcement is a major milestone for fans and the 16 nations on a six month count-down to Sydney.

“Today is an important day for the two groups that will make this event so special – our competing nations and our fans.”
