Annette Pearce joins Netball Singapore as Head Coach and Technical Manager

Netball Singapore is pleased to announce the appointment of Annette Pearce as the new Head Coach and Technical Manager effective from 15 January 2020.

Annette Pearce is no stranger to the netball fraternity here in Singapore. The National Opens team’s video analyst for over 10 years, Annette has worked closely with 3 former national coaches – Kate Carpenter, Ruth Aitken and Natalie Milicich. Annette’s primary role as the team’s video analyst included analysing the key areas of tactical and technical plays on international opposition teams as well as on the Singapore team. She has also run coaching clinics during the Nations Cup for the local coaches.

Annette, a qualified New Zealand High Performance Coach, was the Head of Sport at Presbyterian Ladies College, an elite private girls’ day and boarding school. Originally from Auckland, Annette has been living in Perth for many years coaching senior club teams, mentoring coaches as well as coaching school level teams.

“I am really excited about the new challenge, and I look forward to meeting with the players again. Through my coaching as an elite coach, as well as work related roles I feel I possess a unique blend of knowledge and experience.  Having been privy to the Netball New Zealand High Performance Programme, as well as the continual involvement with Netball Singapore and various other sporting environments such as rowing, I have continued to gain valuable experience and knowledge in working and leading in High Performance environments,” said Annette.

Ms Jessica Tan, President of Netball Singapore, said, “We are very pleased to have Annette Pearce join Netball Singapore. Her vast knowledge of our open’s players and her close working relationship with our national coaches in the past will mean that she will hit the ground running. We would like to welcome her into our netball community, and we wish her all the best.”

The team’s next major tournament is the Asian Netball Championships which will take place in Jeonju, South Korea next June.
