2021 Sports Excellence (spex) Scholarship to be open for NSA Nominations

1. The Singapore Sport Institute (SSI) would like to inform all NSAs that the spexScholarship (Year 9) will be open for nominations by NSA’s from 1 Oct 2020 to 1 Dec 2020. The 2021 spexScholarship programme will commence on 1 Apr 2021.
2. High Performance and Athlete Life (HiPAL) Division of SSI will be conducting 2 information sessions for athletes, parents, coaches and NSA personnel who are interested to know more about the spexScholarship programme. We encourage NSAs to contact their athletes, parents and coaches, and attend the information sessions with them.
   
   1. 2020 spexScholarship Information Session 1·      Date: Saturday, 10 Oct 2020

      ·      Time: 10am – 12pm

      ·      Venue: Virtual meeting via Zoom. Meeting invitation link will be emailed directly to attending participants.

   2.       2020 spexScholarship Information Session 2·      Date: Wednesday, 14 Oct 2020

      ·      Time: 4pm – 6pm

      ·      Venue: Virtual meeting via Zoom. Meeting invitation link will be emailed directly to attending participants.

   In view of the COVID-19 situation, the information sessions will be held via online meeting platform Zoom on these dates. NSAs, athletes, parents and coaches may RSVP their attendance via this link or QR code: https://go.gov.sg/spexsch-info-session-2020

3. All spexScholarship nominations must be submitted online via SportSync by NSAs and athletes, and endorsed by the NSA. In order for Athletes to log in to SportSync, they must do the following:

• Athletes must have an ActiveSG account in order to log in to SportSync. They can register here if they do not have an account yet: https://members.myactivesg.com
• Afterwhich, Athletes can log in to SportSync via their ActiveSG account.

6. We seek NSAs’ cooperation in nominating only suitable candidates (i.e. athletes that are likely in the top 5-10% of their respective level with the potential to progress up to the next level). If there are multiple applicants in your sport, you should attach an additional sheet and list and rank those applicants in descending order starting with those with strongest performance profile.
