SUMMARY:Energizer National League 2008
DESCRIPTION:Date: 26 May – 12 July 2008 \nFinals: 12 July 2008 @ Toa Payoh Sports Hall(Division 1 & 2 and U14 & U17 finals) \nOrganiser: Netball Singapore \nChampions win in extra-time\, Again\nSingapore\, 12 July 2008 – In last year’s final\, arch-rivals Adidas Sneakers Ace notched up a 39-36 win over Nike Air in extra-time\, after both sides were level at 32-32 at the end of regulation. \nNike were back to challenge the title this year\, but thing were not going smoothly for them as the Adidias side pipped them in the Energizer National League 2008 Division 1 Final on Saturday\, winning 50-47 in extra-time at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall. \nIn a thrilling encounter\, the two teams were locked at 40-40 at full time. The champions pulled away to lead 46-44 in the first seven-minute period and always stayed ahead to seal their fourth consecutive title. Nike had beaten Adidas 39-32 in a round robin clash earlier\, but could not repeat the feat. \nNike stormed to a 22-17 lead after two quarters\, prompting a change in Adidas’ gameplan. Goal Shooter Susan Sidhu was switched to Goal Attack and the move paid dividends. \nWith Sidhu giving the midfielders a boost\, Adidas ramped up their attack in the fourth quarter\, levelling the scores at 39-39 with three minutes left on the clock. Nike’s Goal Shooter Rachel Yim chalked up a point and Adidas’ Jenny Lee responded for the tie at full-time. \nIn extra-time\, Adidas and Nike were neck-to-neck with the first six points before the champions took command at 46-44. Adidas never looked back and Ng pointed to the switch in tactics as key. \n\nFinal Results\nEnergizer National League 2008 Division 1Champions ~ Adidas Sneakers AceRunners-Up ~ Nike Air \nEnergizer National League 2008 Division 2 (Opens)Champions ~ Bedok BB’s REDRunners-Up ~ Adidas Sneakers Speed \nEnergizer National League 2008 Division 3Champions ~ Singapore Schools 17sRunners-Up ~ Zenith \nEnergizer National League 2008 Division 4Champions ~ SpeedRunners-Up ~ Singapore Sports School A (SSS A) \nEnergizer National League 2008 Division 5Champions ~ Bedok RenegadeRunners-Up ~ CliqueZ \nEnergizer National League 2008 Division 6Champions ~ NCSRunners-Up ~ Blaze Flame \nEnergizer National League 2008 Division 7Champions ~ ReviveRunners-Up ~ Speed- Seven \nEnergizer National League 2008 Corporate (Mixed’s)Champions ~ SingTelRunners-Up ~ SAFSA MEXX \nEnergizer National League 2008 Schools Under 171st ~ River Valley High2nd ~ Yuan Ching Secondary3rd ~ Chong Boon Secondary \nEnergizer National League 2008 Schools Under 141st ~ Commonwealth Secondary2nd ~ West Spring Secondary3rd ~ Chong Boon Secondary4th ~ River Valley High
