The Basic Sports Trainer course aims to equip participants with injury management principles and basic taping techniques useful for athletes across many sports.

Target Audience
Anyone interested in game coverage and sports injury management, such as PE teachers, sports scientists, coaches, athletes and parents.
Registration Prerequisites
A valid first-aid and CPR/AED certificate needs to be presented during registration.
Anatomy is not a compulsory prerequisite; confirmed participants will be given anatomy pre-reading.
Assessment Methods
There will be ongoing theory and practical assessments throughout the 6 days; this ensures that everyone is keeping pace with the class.
There will be a final theory and case scenario practical examination on the last day of the course.
Dress Code
Participants are expected to wear comfortable sports attire, such as t-shirts, shorts, bermudas, track pants and shoes, throughout the entire duration of the course.
Ladies are expected to wear sports bra for shoulder taping.
Recognition
Successful completion of the Basic Sports Trainer course is awarded with 2-year accreditation with the Singapore Sports Council as a Level 1 Sports Trainer.
A valid Basic Sports Trainer accreditation is required for registration for the Advanced Sports Trainer Course.
Course Duration & Structure
- Taught Component: A total of 48 hours; 8 hours x 6 days, conducted over 3 consecutive weekends
- Practical Component: 20 supervised hours of attachment with SSI

Course Fees
Basic Sports Trainer Course fees at S$950.00 (inclusive of Goods & Services Tax).
NROC coaches, NSA officials and SpexTEAM carded athletes enjoy a $100 discount upon presentation of relevant documentation.
Registration
Registration for the March 2012 Course closes at 5pm, 10th February 2012. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration has to be completed in person at the:

Please bring along your original valid First-Aid certificate, valid CPR/AED certificate and a crossed cheque written out to the "Singapore Sports Council".
